The Made in Iraq project workshop brought together all team members to discuss the main research themes and scientific articles currently in preparation, to further develop the research agenda, and to plan the next steps regarding research activities, conferences, and publications.

On October 7, 2025, the team organized a panel discussion accompanied by a screening of Ruptured City.

The panel aimed to share insights from the ongoing research.

  • Dorota Woroniecka-Krzyżanowska spoke about the reconstruction campaign in Baghdad during the 1990s.

  • Raghad Al-Fadhil discussed urban changes in the Baghdad neighborhood of Zayouna.

  • Aleksandra Wojtaszek spoke about urban planning under sanctions.

  • Ghada Al-Slik contributed insightful comments and factual observations to the overall discussion.

During the event, the team also screened a short documentary directed by Andrzej Wyrwiński. Ruptured City explores urban changes in Baghdad during international sanctions.
