Sixth fieldwork in Baghdad

The team conducted the sixth fieldwork in Baghdad between 5 and 22 November 2025. The research activities included visits to institutions (Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Public Municipalities, The Iraq National Library and Archives, and Municipality of Kerrada) and specific sites (e.g. Nahda, Souq Hamada, Abu Nuwas and Souq Al-Jadeed), team meetings, activities at the University of Baghdad and in-depth interviews with Iraqi architects, urban planners, employees of public institutions and residents of Souq Hamada, Abu Nuwas and Souq Al-Jadeed. On 18 November, the team met with the Polish Head of Mission in Iraq, Wojciech Bożek, to discuss the research project and activities for 2026.
