Joint academic events at the University of Baghdad, November 2025

  • Date:
  • Location: University of Baghdad

With the aim to foster academic cooperation and knowledge exchange, the team conducted a series of events at the University of Baghdad in November 2025, at the invitation and with support from the Iraqi colleagues. On November 9, dr Dorota Woroniecka-Krzyżanowska and prof. Ghada al-Slik conducted a workshop for PhD students from the Department of Architecture focusing on the practical aspects of publishing a scientific article. On November 19, dr Dorota Woroniecka-Krzyżanowska gave a lecture “Why sociology matters?” at two newly established colleges of the University of Baghdad: College of Excellence and College of Artificial Intelligence. The new colleges are part of broader efforts through which the University of Baghdad aims to address the changes underway in international academia and, more broadly, the globalized world. The final event, conducted on November 20, was a lecture “Getting published in humanities and social sciences,” during which dr Dorota Woroniecka-Krzyżanowska shared her experiences in academic publishing with Iraqi colleagues from various institutes at the University of Baghdad. The activities organized in November 2025 are part of broader efforts of the “Made in Iraq” team to engage in meaningful academic cooperation, including joint research, publications and academic events.
