EUROLOC SUMMER SCHOOL ON LOCAL GOVERNMENT & POLITICS 2026

Aleksandra Wojtaszek participated in the 2026 Summer School on Local Governance and Politics titled “Cities as Political Arenas: Governing Urban Change through Collaboration and Innovation,” endorsed by the Standing Group on Local Government and Politics (ECPR) and the European Urban Research Association (EURA) and hosted by the Institute of Economics, Zagreb, in partnership with the University of Oslo (Norway). Aleksandra presented her paper titled “Informal Antifragility and the Potential for Policy: A Case Study of Baghdad.” Eighteen PhD students presented papers on topics including climate change, migration, social inequalities, housing affordability, and the pressures of tourism. Over the four-day programme, participants also visited the Old City Hall – City Assembly of Zagreb, where they were introduced to major projects of the City of Zagreb at the invitation of the Deputy Mayor. The programme also included a site visit to Paromlin, where participants explored the future City Library of Zagreb and Socio-Cultural Centre, currently under construction, at the invitation of the Deputy Mayor of the City of Zagreb.
