Eighth fieldwork in Baghdad

The team conducted the eighth fieldwork in Baghdad between 31 May and 7 June 2026. The research activities included visits to institutions (The Iraq National Library and Archives, Mayoralty of Baghdad, and Building Research Directorate) and specific sites (e.g. Souq Hamada and Abu Nuwas), activities at the University of Baghdad and in-depth interviews with Iraqi architects, urban planners, employees of public institutions. On 1 June, the team met with the Polish Head of Mission in Iraq, Wojciech Bożek. On 1 June, dr Dorota Woroniecka-Krzyżanowska and Aleksandra Wojtaszek conducted workshop for students from the College of Excellence titled “How to increase your chances of acceptance into postgraduate studies and training in Europe.” On 3 June, dr Dorota Woroniecka-Krzyżanowska had lecture for students from the College of Excellence about Anthropology of Space.
