19th International Docomomo Conference

Between 17-20 March 2026, Prof. Ghada Al Slik and Raghad Fadhil participated in the 19th International Docomomo Conference. The biennial International Docomomo Conference is headed stateside for only the second time since the founding of Docomomo, bringing together members and colleagues from around the world, for an in-depth exploration of global issues and new ideas about the future built environment, as it relates to the Modern Movement. During the conference, Prof. Ghada and Raghad presented a research paper “Universal or Local Decisions? Insights from Iraqi Modernity,” at the session titled “Translating Modernism: Climate, Material and Cultural Mediation.”
